They Flip for Pancake Days in Liberal
Liberal, KS (westernkansasnews.com) A 415 yard s-curve course, a pan and a pancake. For 65 years the people in Liberal have challenged Olney, England over who can run the fastest in the Annual International Pancake Days Race. Yesterday 25 year old Summer Parsons, a physical education teacher at Garfield Elementary, ran the event for the first time and won.
Parsons finished in 63.5 seconds, just ahead of another 1st time runner Destyni Lucero. Olney, England takes the title again this year, Devon Bryne repeats as champion breaking the record she set last year at 55.6 seconds.
