Garden City, KS (westernkansasnews.com) After four years of trying, she is now the new queen bee.  Eighth grader Megan Burrows of Holcomb wins the Finney County spelling bee Saturday at Garden City High School. Burrows called the experience nerve racking, but she stayed cool under pressure.

Burrows will join second place winner Jessica Pammenter of St. Dominic Elementary at the state spelling bee March 8th on the campus of Fort Hays State.  Sixth grader Olivia Hanigan of Plymell Elementary finished third.
