Finney County Attorney Asking State AG to Review Wurst Kidnapping Case

Garden City, KS (westernkansasnews.com) At the request of Finney County Attorney Susan Richmeier to avoid any perception of a conflict of interest the state Attorney General’s Office will determine what charges are filed in the kidnapping case of Chief District Judge Wendell Wurst.  Charges are still pending against 33 year old Jason Nichols.

Tuesday the assistant wrestling coach at Holcomb High School is accused of knocking on the door of Wurst house, bounding the judge and holding him hostage in anger over a child custody case Wurst presided over that didn’t go Nichols way.

Nichols is expected in Finney County District Court Friday morning and is being held on 900-thousand dollars bond.
