Final Days for Cleanup Projects for Dodge City Days
DODGE CITY, Kansas —The start of Dodge City Days is less than two weeks away, and it is time to take final steps to make sure the community is ready for the many visitors who will be arriving to participate in the ten-day festival.
The top priority during this time will be given to the busy arterial streets and parade route that will carry most of the traffic to the events. City staff has been cleaning dirt and sand from sidewalks and curbs, edging, mowing, weed eating and performing litter cleanups and trash removal. The street sweeper will then follow the staff to pick up extra debris.
Main Street Dodge City will have their monthly downtown cleanup on July 26th starting at 8:30 am in Eisenhower Park. Volunteers will be needed to further prepare the downtown area for Final Friday and the start of the festival. For more information, contact Coral Lopez, Main Street Coordinator, at corall@dodgedev.org or 620-227-9501.
Businesses and residents can play an essential part in the preparations by looking at their properties to see if there is something extra that can be done that will give the visitors and tourists a great Dodge City experience.
‘Company is coming to town’ in a big way, and there is no better time to work together to put our best foot forward.
