Filing deadline approaches in Finney County for local election

FINNEY COUNTY, Kan. — Leadership positions are up for election this fall across various local boards in Finney County. Those interested in running should pick up a filing packet from the Finney County Election Office, 311 N. 9th St., Garden City. The deadline to file is Monday, June 3, 2019 at 12:00 noon.

There is a $20.00 filing fee for all offices. The Garden City Commission also requires payment of a $50.00 Governmental Ethics disclosure fee at the time of filing for any of those positions. Make payments by cash, check, or money order to the Finney County Election Officer upon returning the filing packet.

Interested persons should contact the boards directly for information about the open position(s) and/or any other requirements.

Depending on the number of candidates that file, there may be a Primary Election held on Tuesday, August 6, 2019. The General Election is Tuesday, November 5, 2019.
