Faulk named All-American

Garden City, KS (westernkansasnews.com)-It’s hard to imagine a program ever giving up on Jeremy Faulk. But maybe, in some crazy silver lining, the sophomore’s time at Florida Atlantic, where he never sniffed the field, put a chip on his shoulder that he badly needed.

On Monday, the defensive lineman, who registered 87 tackles, two forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries this past season was named an NJCAA first-team All American.

What Faulk did to opposing offenses was scary. What he did to defenses was eye opening.

In the opening week vs. Highland, it was Fauk’s strip sack that sealed the first victory of the Jeff Sims era. Two months later, it was Faulk lined up in the Power I, putting the Broncbusters on the board first in an eventual upset win over top-ranked Butler.

First-team all defense is nice, but how about first-team all everything.

“He (Faulk) is scary fast,” Sims said before the Butler game. “Our guys can’t stop him, and we have one of the best defenses in the country.”

Before the season opener vs. Highland, Sims offered this:

“Jeremy Faulk will be the best defensive player in the country by the end of the season.”

Boy did that ever ring true. Now, Division-I schools from all over the country are coming to see him; not the other way around.
