Fatal ATV Crash in Hamilton County Kills 7-Year-Old

HAMILTON COUNTY, Kan. — One person was killed following a single-vehicle accident in Hamilton County on Saturday evening around 5:05 pm.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, a 2017 Polaris Ranger driven by seven-year-old Kanon Michael Bowles of Syracuse, was traveling eastbound on River Road. The vehicle began to rotate clockwise on all four tires going broadside before going off the roadway south of River Road. The Ranger rotated over the driver’s side an undetermined amount of times. The driver was ejected and the vehicle came to rest facing Southwest 2.9 miles West of Kansas Highway 27 on River Road.

Bowles was taken to Hamilton County Hospital with a fatal injury. Bowles was not wearing a safety restraint according to KHP.
