Factors That Could Contribute to Road Funding Drying Up

(westernkansasnews.com) It is a debate that begins at the national level, but ultimately concerns you in Southwest Kansas.  As car manufacturers work on automobiles that consume less gas to improve the environment, less is being collected from national and state gas taxes to improve our roads.  Garden City Manager Matt Allen says eventually this starts becoming a local issue.

The problem does not end there.

Garden City is making needed improvements to their roads and the good news is the direct cost has not been a direct hit.  City officials have partnered with KDOT through the connect links program.  City Manager Matt Allen has insight on what is involved.
