Everett Lyle Fitzwater
Everett Lyle Fitzwater, 97, died October 7, 2015 at Presbyterian Manor of the Plains, Dodge City. He was born on August 2, 1918 at Westfall, the son of Ray and Iva (Kidwell) Fitzwater.
Everett was a graduate of Solomon High School and Emporia State University. On August 31, 1942 he married Hazel N. Rabourn at Montezuma. She preceded him in death on April 6, 2002. Mr. Fitzwater coached and taught school at Arnold, Haviland, and Mullinville. He later was an area office administrator for ANR Pipeline retiring in 1983.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church and Builders Sunday School Class, and RSVP of Dodge City.
Everett is survived by his daughter, Royanna Brehm and husband Col. (Ret) Philip Brehm of Harrisburg, Pennsyvalnia; granddaughter, Sonja Gross and husband Jay of Egg Harbor, New Jersey; two great grandchildren, Madison Gross and Jackson Gross. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Rex and Max; and infant sister.
Graveside service will be held at Maple Grove Cemetery on Tuesday, October 13, 2015 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Jerre Nolte presiding. Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Home on Tuesday, October 13, 2015 from 9:30 to 10:30 AM. In Lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to the First United Methodist Church or Presbyterian Manor of the Plains both in care of Swaim Funeral Home, 1901 6th Ave, Dodge City, KS 67801.
