Evelyn Davis
Evelyn Davis 90, passed away Sunday, March 22, 2015 at Liberal Good Samaritan Center.
She was born April 3, 1924 at Cameron, TX, the daughter of JC and Beatrice (Wesley) Tucker.
She married Odell Davis on January 27, 1969 at Liberal, KS. He preceded her in death on October 8, 1992.
Evelyn grew up in Cameron, TX . She moved to Liberal from Lubbock, TX in 1952. She went to work for Epworth Hospital in Housekeeping then later with Southwest Medical Center in the Central Supply Dept. from where she retired after 24 years of service. She enjoyed cooking, shopping, fishing and reading the bible. She was a member of Bibleway Church of God In Christ since it’s inception where she also served as a District Missionary for the Western District.
Her survivors include Daughter- Dorothy Parker of Liberal, KS; Son – Leel Hampton Jr. of Dallas, TX; 11 Grandchildren, 22 Great Grandchildren,14 Great Great Grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by 2 brothers and 7 sisters.
Visitation will be Friday March 27th from 12:00 pm-8:00 pm at Miller Mortuary.
Funeral Service will be at 2:00 pm Saturday March 28, 2015 at Bibleway Church of God In Christ with Superintendent Lawrence Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Liberal City Cemetery.
