Emergency Funding For School Districts Will Not Provide Immediate Help

Hugoton, KS (westernkansasnews.com) With a 21 percent drop in property valuation the recent news that the State Finance Council kicked in a little more than 433-thousand in emergency funding was welcome relief for Hugoton schools.  Despite the good news, Superintendent Adrian Howie notes one drawback.

 

 

The school district had to levy a 7.5 mill levy increase this year to balance their books.
