Elizabeth M. Sturgeon
Elizabeth M. Sturgeon, 80, died May 2, 2016 at the Minneola District Hospital. She was born on March 5, 1936 in Dodge City, the daughter of Frank and Virginia (Pollock) Mapel, Sr.
Elizabeth attended Dodge City Community College and Kansas State University. On June 4, 1955, she married Larry Sturgeon in Dodge City. He survives. She enjoyed cross-stitching, quilting, and spending time with her family.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and the Chapter DZ PEO both of Dodge City.
In addition to her husband Larry of Fowler, she is also survived by a daughter, Laura Devine and husband Jim of Fowler; a son, Michael Sturgeon and wife Annie of Kinsley; four grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Frank, Jr. and Sam; and one grandson, Ryon Sturgeon.
Funeral service will be held at First Presbyterian Church in Dodge City on Thursday, May 5, 2016 at 2:30 PM with Mr. Kevin Salzman presiding. Inurnment will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Dodge City. There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place. Memorials are suggested to Chapter DZ PEO or Minneola District Hospital in care of Swaim Funeral Home, Dodge City.
