DuVall: Too Much Monetary Investment Needed for Landbank

Garden City, KS (westernkansasnews.com) Disappointed yes! At Monday’s Finney County Commissioner’s meeting the idea of a landbank was defeated which would have allowed for re-sale of dilapidated properties when owners are delinquent in paying their taxes. President and CEO of the Finney County Economic Development Corporation Lona DuVall says as discussions continued the proposal just was not feasible.

The foreclosure costs associated with this plan is something commissioners just would not take up.

DuVall wants to pursue other options in achieving the same results.
