Drought lingers in southwest Kansas
In the latest drought monitor released on Thursday, a vast majority of southwest Kansas remains in a drought.
Most of the region is in the Drought-0, which is considered Abnormally Dry, while part of the region is the Drought-1, Moderate Drought. Parts of Gray, Ford, Hodgeman, Meade, Clark and Commanche Counties are currently not seeing a drought at this time.
There are chances to improve the drought situation, especially in the far western counties of the state, where there are chances of showers throughout the weekend.
