Driver Arrested After Leading Officer on Vehicle Chase
Garden City, KS (westernkansasnews.com) A police officer in Garden City chased down a suspect after attempting to stop the man during a traffic stop around 10am Friday morning. The man identified as 23 year old Andrew Marez had an equipment malfunction with his 1993 Mercury Sabel.
The pursuit began at the US 83/50 interchange and ended when the driver drove on the curb off the 1900 block of Spruce where a witness spotted the man eventually hiding in a dumpster. Marez will likely be charged with drug possession and intent to distribute methamphetamine, fleeing and eluding and interfering with a law enforcement officer.
