Dorothy Darlene McGehee

Dorothy Darlene McGehee, age 87, died Thursday, June 19, 2015 at Southwest Medical Center in Liberal, KS. She was born September 22, 1927 in Liberal, KS, the daughter of Lee Harley and Bernice (Antrim) Hickey. 
She attended Liberal High School. She was Co-Owner of McGehee Drilling. She resided in Montana and Colorado from 1953 to 1986, when she and Jim returned to Liberal. She was employed by USD-480, working in Food Service, from 1986-1988. 
She was a member of the Central Christian Church in Liberal. 

She married James Lloyd “Jim” McGehee on September 3, 1943 at Wichita, KS. He died on January 3, 2005. 

She enjoyed traveling, boating, camping, reading, sewing and quilting, and was an active participant at the Liberal Senior Center. 

Survivors include 
1 Son James Lee McGehee West Memphis, AR 
2 Daughters Sharon Kay Schwarze and Husband Gary Long Lake, MN 
Gwena McGehee Liberal, KS 
2 Grandchildren, Jill Olivia Ellenbecker and Kristin Gwena Schwarze, 1 Great-Grandchild, Eveline Joy Ellenbecker, and many nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded by her parents, 1 Brother Joy Glenn “Dude” Hickey and 1 Sister Gloria Lee Dixon. 

Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 23, 2015, at Brenneman Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Rex Petty officiating. Inurnment will be in Restlawn Cemetery. 

Cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation. Friends may sign the guest book on Monday, June 22, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
