Donald Hartshorn, 81, died Sep. 15th, 2016 at his residence in Liberal, KS. He was born on Mar. 20, 1935 in Holly, CO, to Wallace and Edna (Stwalley) Hartshorn.  

He was a resident of Liberal since 1969. He was a member of the First Christian Church Disciples of Christ. Family was very important to him.  

On Feb. 15th, 1969 he married Roberta June Hartshorn (Jenkins) in Campo, CO. Roberta passed away in 2012.

Don was a farmer in his early years on the family farm in Holly CO, then moved to Liberal KS with his wife, Roberta Hartshorn, and children. He began truck driving for Sally Feed, moving hay from Eastern Kansas to the Tri-state area feedlots, continuing with his own trucking operation, Hartshorn Trucking.

10 Great Grandchildren; Samantha Bolton, Danaka Felton, Makalynn Gourley, Hollis Gourley, Conner Fankhauser, Lexi Fankhauser, Casen Arthur, Savannah Armstrong, Kyra Patrick, and Kimber Patrick.  

He is also survived by his caregiver and family friend, Gigi Mendez.

His beloved dog, Dante, survives as well. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Roberta, 3 brothers: Bud Hartshorn, Babe Hartshorn and Max Hartshorn; 1 sister: Linda Rose; and grandson Brady Lawson.  

Funeral services will be 3:00 pm Sunday, Sep. 18th, at the Brenneman Funeral Home, with Pastor Terry Ford presiding. Graveside services will be 10:00 am Monday, Sep. 19th at the Liberal Cemetery.  

Visitation time will from 6-8 pm Friday, Sep. 16, with family to greet friends from 6-7. Visitation will continue from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm Saturday, Sep. 17.
