Dodge City’s Reid named to Kansas Shrine Bowl
Dodge City, KS (westernkansasnews.com)-The lasting image most fans have of Dodge City wide receiver Eric Reid is one that local fans will never forget.
With Garden City needing a win in the season finale to clinch a playoff spot, it was Reid’s three touchdown masterpiece that ended the Buffaloes’ postseason dreams. It also moved the senior into all-time great status where the Hatchet Game is concerned.
Reid had thought he had played his final game. That was until Tuesday.
Reid was selected to play in the 43rd annual Kansas-Shrine Bowl Game on July 30 in Emporia.
“It’s a great honor,” Reid said. “To get to put on the shoulder pads one more time, I’m really excited.”
Reid is the 28th Red Demons player to be selected to the game, and first since Justin Gemaelich in 2013.
