Dodge City woman dies after 3-vehicle crash in Scott County

SCOTT COUNTY — A 3-vehicle crash in Scott County on Monday evening has left one woman deceased. The accident occurred on US-83 in Scott County at mile marker 119 around 7:15 p.m.

According to a report from the Kansas Highway Patrol, 39-year-old Mony Sen Conner was traveling southbound on US-83 in her 2017 Toyota Camry. Conner then tried to pass vehicle driven by 35-year-old Luis Fernando Jimenez-Sanjuan, who was also traveling south. Conner’s attempt at passing Jimenez-Sanjuan was unsuccessful, as she side-swiped a vehicle driven by 19-year-old Stanton Ray Herrada. Conner’s vehicle was then pushed back into the southbound lane and then was side-swiped by Jimenez-Sanjuan.

Conner was pronounced dead at the scene, while both Jimenez-Sanjuan and Herrada both left the scene with no injuries sustained. Conner was a native of Dodge City.

All three individuals were properly restrained with a seat belt according to the report filed by the KHP.

This accident was the second in as many days along US-83 in Scott County. Both accidents resulted in one person dead and the accidents were only a mile apart from one another.
