Dodge City to Host Area Swim Championships
Dodge City, KS(westernkansasnews.com) Dodge City will be the location for the 2017 Western Kansas Swim Club combined championship swim meet on Saturday, July 15 and Sunday, July 16 at the Long Branch Lagoon in Wright Park.
The Olympic-size 50 meter pool will see approximately 400 swimmers competing in free style, backstroke, breaststroke and butterfly. Swimmers in the age category of 10 and under will begin competing at 9:00 am each morning. Swimmers from 11 to 18 will compete in the afternoon beginning around 1:00 pm.
Only the swimming pool at Long Branch Lagoon will be closed to the public during the two-day competition – the other amenities such as the slides, lazy river and wave pool will remain open to the public.
Swim clubs that will be represented include Dodge City, Scott City, Leoti, Hays, Golden Belt, Liberal, Ulysses, Garden City, Holcomb, Lakin, Colby, Elkhart, Guymon OK, Spearman, TX and Dumas-Moore County, TX.
