Dodge City soccer star named Gatorade Player of the Year
Dodge City, KS-It was a special season for Dodge City soccer. It got even better on Monday.
Demons’ junior defender Miguel Baca was named the Kansas Gatorade Player of the Year.
“This was made possible because of my teammates, coaches and family,” Baca said. “It’s a real honor to be named the Gatorade Player of the Year.”
Baca guided the Demons to a 21-0 record and the class 6A state championship back in the fall. He was part of a defense that allowed just nine goals all season while shutting out all five postseason opponents.
“Words can’t describe how I feel,” Baca said. “We did something very special.”
Baca, who was the 6A co-Defensive Player of the Year, maintained a 4.03 GPA in the classroom.
