Dodge City Manna House holding open house on Sunday
DODGE CITY, KAN. — The Manna House in Dodge City will be holding an open house on Sunday from 1:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. at 1012 1st Ave. in Dodge City. The event is open to the public and director Steve Tabor wants to thank the public for their hard work.
The Manna House is a shelter for those in need of a place to stay. The shelter has been hosting families and individuals since 1993. Tabor said that the organization is always accepting donations, whether it be food, blankets, pillows or any other necessities.
“We want to invite people out to our event on Sunday to say thank you,” Tabor said. “The people of Dodge City and the surrounding communities have been so good to us and we want to just show a token of gratitude.”
Since Tabor took over as the director in 2014 a lot of changes have happened.
“We’ve done a lot of work to the place to make sure that the families and the ones who use it feel like they’re truly at home,” Tabor said. “We’ve added new carpet, curtains, paint and a whole lot more, so we want to be able to show that off also.”
The Manna House is always accepting donations and can be mailed to the Manna House at 1012 1st Ave. Dodge City, KS 67801 or you can drop them off directly at the house. The Manna House is a member of the United Way. You can find out more information online at http://dodgecityhousing.com/manna-house/.
