Dodge City Looking to Atone For Last Year’s Loss to Heights

Wichita, KS (westernkansasnews.com) For the Dodge City High School football team it is time to exercise some unwanted demons.  This team is not as worried about the 2010 loss to Wichita Heights in the state semifinals, for the seniors and head coach Dave Foster it came down to one play in a 2014 showdown at Memorial Stadium.

Trenton Autry caught an 88 yard screen pass with less than two minutes to go setting up Tre King’s three yard touchdown run in the final minute to give Heights a 26-21 win.  Dodge City High School quarterback Caden Walters does not need the coach to make a motivation speech before tonight’s game.

Garrett Haskins returns as the Falcons quarterback his season ended early last season when he injured his ankle against Andover. Haskins runs a triple option attack and was all league last year leading an offense that rushed for the Red Demons.

Wichita Heights has won the last five in the series including a pair or playoff wins over Dodge City in 2008 and 2010.  Pre-game coverage begins at 6:30, kickoff at 7 on Z98 and westernkansasnews.com.
