Despite Higher Price Tag; Dodge City Aquatics Park Gets Funding Approval
Dodge City, KS (westernkansasnews.com) At a joint meeting Monday night of the Dodge City and Ford County Commissioners elected officials approved funding the new city aquatics park for 12.2 million dollars a little over two million more than the original allocated price.
Officials wanted to keep a new wave and fifty meter lap pool in the design plans. Dodge City Parks and Recreation Director Paul Lewis says the additional cost will be picked up from a depreciation fund in the “Why Not Dodge Tax”. Construction could begin by next month.
