Despite Budget Cuts, Road Projects Will Remain on Schedule
Topeka, KS (westernkansasnews.com) The Kansas Department of Transportation stands to lose 96 million dollars in the latest proposal from Governor Sam Brownback to close up a budget shortfall for education and some social programs. Even if it puts a squeeze on KDOT officials like Steve Swartz, Chief of Public Affairs are confident they will make it.
Swartz notes there are no plans to scrap projects waiting to begin construction. That could change if KDIT suffers another round of budget cuts.
