Derek Wiebe Martens

Derek Wiebe Martens, 1, died October 7, 2015 at St. Catherine’s Hospital in Garden City. He was born on December 9, 2013 in Garden City, the son of Jacob and Linda (Wiebe) Martens. 

Derek was able to touch many people during his short life. He brought a great deal of joy to his family. 

Those left to cherish memories of Derek include his parents of Sublette; two brothers, John and Tony Martens of the home; grandparents, Abraham and Anna Wiebe of Garden City and Henry and Margaretha Martens of Copeland; and many other family and friends. 

Funeral service will be held at Old Colony Mennonite Church, Montezuma on Sunday, October 11, 2015 at 2:00 PM with Pastor Jake Bergen presiding. Burial will follow the service. Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Chapel of Sublette on Saturday, October 10, 2015 from noon to 8:00 PM. Thoughts and memories may be shared in the online guest book at www.swaimfuneralhome.com.
