Demons Hand Tigers Two Losses
Ulysses, KS (westernkansasnews.com) The Dodge City High School basketball teams have earned a much needed break. Playing back to back nights for only the third time this season both Red Demon basketball teams scored big wins over GWAC opponent Ulysses on their home floor 58-20 in the girls game and 64-34 in the boys.
In the girls game, Dodge City allowed an early three to Gina Ballesteros, then rattled off a 15-3 run all the way into early in the second quarter. The Lady Tigers then answered with their own 7-0 run, but that was as closer as they would make it. Jessie Harshberger poured in 23 points, her fifth game of more than 20 points this season and the Red Demon defense forced 32 turnovers in a 38 point win.
Defensively Ashley Nelson and Taylor Nichols both had five steals each. Kali Kennedy finished with 4 points and 9 rebounds in the loss. Dodge has won three in a row and improved to 11-5, while Ulysses winners in two of their last three games fell to 3-13.

Williams led three players in double figures with 14, Walters had his first double-double 14 points and 10 rebounds all while taking three charges and Matt Karns scored ten in the win.
Maybe the most impressive thing was Dodge City for the first time this year felt like they limited their turnovers with just eight and hit over fifty percent from the field for the fourth time this year. Outside shooting sensation Zach Zerr got hot in the second half connecting on four threes to finish with 14 points in the Tiger loss.
