Delwin Everhart
Delwin Everhart, 77, died March 26, 2017 at his home in Dodge City. He was born on May 10, 1939 at Utica, Kansas the son of Clinton and Fern (Phares) Everhart.
He married Virginia Schraeder on September 27, 1958 in Dodge City, she survives. Mr. Everhart loved restoring his 1952 Mercury Monterey with his wife Virginia. He and Virginia owned and operated Happy Homes Park and Sales. Delwin enjoyed watching NASCAR races as well as KU Basketball. He drove a school bus for USD #443 for a few years before driving for Bright Beginnings. Mr. Everhart in his spare time enjoyed going to car shows as well as traveling. He loved spending time with his family and visiting with people and never meet a stranger.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Dodge City.
He is survived by his wife Virginia of the home; two sons Todd Everhart and wife Teressa of Dodge City; Devin Everhart and wife Angela of Canon City, Colorado; one daughter Gina Rand and husband Michael of Dodge City; six grandchildren Taryn Myers and husband Dylan of Maize; Tristin Terhune and husband Tyson of Wichita; Sheila Krugman and husband Ben of Conroe, Texas; Westin Everhart and fiancée Brooke Pederson of Wichita; Gentry Kaufman and husband Brandon of Derby; Darin Rand and fiancée Samantha Fesemyer of Dodge City; and eight great grandchildren. He is also survived by two brothers Vernon Everhart of Ft. Dodge; Kenneth Everhart and wife Shirley of Winfield; three sisters Bonnie Vail and husband Don of Fayetteville, Arkansas; Myrna Eastin of Draper, Utah and Barbara Wilson of Salina, Kansas. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral service will be held at First United Methodist Church on Thursday March 30, 2017 at 10:30 AM with Rev. Jerre Nolte and Rev. Gerald Mendenhall presiding. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Dodge City. Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 29, 2017 from 12:00 to 8:00 PM with the family receiving friends from 5:00 to 7:00 PM. Memorials are suggested to Delwin Everhart Memorial Fund for Bright Beginnings in care of the funeral home.
