Debra Jo Purcell

Debra Jo Purcell, age 61, died Sunday, January 12, 2014 at St Catherine Hospital in Garden City. She was born August 26, 1952 at Dodge City, the daughter of Ralph Nathan & Evah Mary (Larkin) Massey. Debra married Mike Purcell on July 4, 1971 at Garden City. He died on November 24, 2013. 

Debra graduated from Ensign High School where she was active in track. She attended Fort Hays State University. She moved to Garden City and worked for Sears and then was Office Manager at Palmer Manufacturing for 31 years. She enjoyed watching all kinds of sports, especially the Olympics, micro midget car races & taking care of stray cats. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, twin infant daughters and one brother- Mike Massey.

Visitation: 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM on Friday, January 17, 2014 at Garnand Funeral Home. 

Funeral Service: 10:30 AM on Saturday, January 18, 2014 at Garnand Funeral Home in Garden City with Rev David Bell officiating.

Interment: Valley View Cemetery in Garden City. 

Memorials may be given to the Finney County Humane Society in care of Garnand Funeral Home.
