DCHS’s Baca lands on preseason all-american team
Dodge City, KS-Dodge City high school soccer rode a gigantic wave, all the way to a state title in 2016. 12 months later, the Red Demons appear to be in prime position to repeat. And defense has a lot to do with that.
Center-back Miguel Baca, who was part of a Demon squad that recorded 14 shutouts last season, was named to the USA Today, Preseason All-America team this week.
“It shows that we will have a good team this season,” Baca said. “I can’t wait to get started.”
Dodge City produced one of the greatest, defensive statistical runs in school history. During their five-game playoff run, they did not allow a single goal.
The Red Demons being the regular season on Tuesday, Aug. 29 at home vs. Wichita South.
