DCHS soccer downs Garden in OT

Garden City, KS (westernkansasnews.com)-It was by no means a masterpiece. But in the end, Dodge City’s heroics on Monday night at Buffalo Stadium wrapped up at least a share of the conference title.

Cassanda Herrera’s kick deflected past Garden City goalie Ashlee Richman in the 96th minute, breaking a scoreless tie, and handing the Buffaloes their second overtime loss of the season to the Red Demons.

“It feels good anytime you win a game in Garden City,” Dodge City Coach Saul Hernandez said afterwards. “It’s always a battle when these two teams play.”

Garden City’s offense, which has been a major Achilles heel all season, produced only two shots on goal.
