DCHS hires new soccer coach (Audio)
Dodge City, KS (westernkansasnews.com)-The Dodge City High School Athletic Department has announced the hiring of Saul Hernandez as the new Head Boys and Girls Soccer coach of the Red Demons – pending Board of Education approval at the next scheduled meeting.
Hernandez spent last season as an assistant coach at Liberal High School, and had been named the Head Girls Coach for the 2016 season. Hernandez was previously the Head Boys and Girls coach at Hays High School, and was named the WAC Girls Coach of the Year in 2014. Hernandez will teach Business at DCHS.
Saul is a former Red Demon soccer player (1998-2001); and a 2002 DCHS graduate. He received his Bachelor’s degree from Fort Hays State University. Hernandez played for former DCHS Head Soccer Coach, Adam Hunter, at Dodge City Community College earning second team all-conference honors.
