Dangerous Storms Pass Through Saturday Night

Dighton, KS (westernkansasnews.com)  Saturday’s storms were powerful as they swept through Western Kansas.  Dangerous lighting was seen from Ulysses all the way to Dodge City. The National Weather Service received reports of hail from dime to nickel sized near Dighton and Healy in Lane County and just WNW of Dodge City.  Dighton was already recovering from some minor damage reported after Wednesday’s storms.

Lane County Emergency Management Director Bill Taldo.  Saturday’s peak winds in Dighton reached 80MPH matching the winds reported during Wednesday night’s storms.
