Dale J. Towns
Dale J. Towns, 71 died Saturday, August 29, 2015 at his home in Garden City. He was born October 29, 1943 in Garden City the son of Harry William & Alice Elinor (Baldwin) Towns.
Dale has been a lifetime resident of Garden City. He attended Garden City schools. Dale worked as a Certified Pipeline Welder and Equipment Operator. He enjoyed woodworking, airplanes, cars, and tinkering. He was a member of the Garden City Church of the Nazarene.
On February 12, 1965 he married Tommie Rayas in Garden City. She survives. Other Survivors include a son David & wife Monica Towns of Andover, Kansas; a daughter Teresa & husband Jake Penner of Garden City, Kansas; a brother Delmer & wife Donna Towns of Garden City, Kansas; a sister Christy & husband Larry Barnett of Norman, Oklahoma; 4 grandchildren Teena Towns, Mason Towns, Sara Towns, & Pete Penner; and 3 great grandchildren Nikolai Hamm, Jaelyn Hamm, & Ethan Hamm. Dale is preceded in death by his parents; a step-brother; and a step-sister.
Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 1, 2015 at the Garden City Church of the Nazarene in Garden City with Pastor Tim Fields officiating. Burial will follow at Valley View Cemetery in Garden City. Friends may call from Noon to 8:00 p.m. on Monday at Garnand Funeral Home in Garden City. The family requests memorials given to St. Catherine Hospice in care of Garnand Funeral Home.
