D-Day Vet Shares His Experiences
Dodge City, KS (westernkansasnews.com) On Veterans Day it was fitting that the Dodge City library hosted a presentation from Sargent Bill Miller, a local hero who was there on D-Day when the US forces landed on Omaha Beach.
Miller was 21 that day. He is now 91 and one of the lucky men who survived.
For all he accomplished at D-day and WWII, local veteran Sargent Miller deserved to feel appreciated. That moment came during his recent trip he made with other vets to see the World War II Memorial in Washington.
Miller is making plans to revisit Omaha Beach next June for the 70th anniversary of the D-day invasion.
