Garden City, Kan (westernkansasnews.com)-Former Buster quarterback Jake Curran is packing his bags; this time for a shot to play two more years.
On Monday, Curran announced via Twitter that he was transferring to Kansas Wesleyan in Salina.
“I feel it’s a good fit,” Curran said. “I have two years left, and I want to have fun.”
Curran has plenty on his resume. The Garden City product spent his freshman year watching quarterback Nick Marshall dazzle the Jayhawk Conference before transferring to Auburn. Then during his sophomore campaign, Curran got his chance after Buster Coach Matt Miller benched freshman starter Akeem Jones.
“It was definitely a learning tool to see where I was,” Curran said. “I’ve seen how I’ve grown up over the years since high school.”
In his seven games in 2013, Curran passed for 722 yards and six touchdowns, while tossing only three interceptions. He also ran for for 116 yards and three scores.
The Coyotes are an NAIA school that finished 4-7 last season.
