Crystal Apple Award semifinalists announced

GARDEN CITY — The 13 semifinalists for the annual Crystal Apple Award presented by the Garden City Chamber of Commerce have been announced in a press release on Wednesday.

The Chamber’s Crystal Apple Committee is made up of representatives from the business community who look to help recognize the quality of the educators in Finney County. 

The 13 semifinalists will be narrowed down to six finalists after each of the 13 will have an interview with members of the committee panel.

The six finalists will then be observed by three additional Crystal Apple committee members in their classrooms without the teachers knowing the observers are coming in.

The list of six will then be narrowed down to three and each of them will attend the 2018 Crystal Apple Teachers of Finney County banquet at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 15 at the Clarion Inn in Garden City. The winner will receive an engraved crystal apple, $1,000 cash award and an iPad.  The three finalists will each earn a cash award of $250.
