Crissie L. Brunson

Crissie L. Brunson, 65, of Garden City, died Wednesday, March 4, 2015, at Trinity Manor Nursing Home in Dodge City. She was born February 1, 1950, in Hot Springs, Arkansas, to Louis Miller and Agnes Wooten. 

Crissie was married to Roger M. Brunson on March 7, 1986. Both were members of the Friends of Lee Richardson Zoo. 

Crissie spent many years as cook for the local school district and found much delight in caring for others. Crissie was a generous caretaker at heart and lived to comfort and care for others around her. Her years were spent loving and caring for her grandchildren. Nothing brought more joy to Crissie than to see her “grandbabies” smile. 

Crissie was survived by her daughter, Ann Taylor and husband, Chuck Taylor, of Dodge City, Ks; son Ray Reese of Garden City, Ks; son Harold Reese of Garden City, Ks; and Grandchildren Charlie Unruh, Miranda Unruh, and Adam Unruh of Holcomb, Ks. She is also survived by; Sonja Brunson Jones, Stephanie Brunson Butler, Travis Brunson, Troy Brunson, Tim Brunson, Vickie Brunson Lohmeyer, Roger Mearl Brunson, Athena Brunson Newman, and twenty-two other grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren. Crissie was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, and by her husband Roger Brunson. 

Funeral service will be held at Valley View Cemetery in Garden City on Monday, March 16, 2015 at 1:00pm with Mr. Steve Ormord presiding. There will be no public visitation as cremation has taken place. Memorials are suggested to Charity of Donor’s Choice in care of the funeral home.
