Court time big in Lady Beavers’ summer volleyball schedule

Scott City, Kan. (westernkansasnews.com)–Going into her second year as the Scott City Lady Beavers volleyball coach, Megan Gentry returns everyone back from a youthful team in 2014. This summer, court time has been big in the development of a team that went 5-27 a year ago. 

The court time so far this summer has aided in improvement for the Lady Beavers. Monday night trips to Hays for summer league matches and Thursdays to Garden City has aided in the offseason improvement for a program that has a majority of upperclassman on its varsity roster for the first time in three seasons.

During last week’s team camp at the SCHS gymnasium, Fort Hays State Coach Kurt Kohler, Lady Tiger players and staff aided in two of the four camp days. This week, Scott City is participating in the University of Kansas team camp in Lawrence.

As for the schedule, the Lady Beavers will begin practice August 17.
