Cora Virginia Wilkens

Cora Virginia Wilkens, age 98, passed away on Monday, October 19, 2015 at Wichita County Health Center Long Term Care in Leoti, Kansas. Mrs. Wilkens was born July 11, 1917 in Willow Springs, Missouri, the daughter of Ghould & Tracy (Builta) Moore. A resident of Leoti since 2010 moving from Visalia, California, she was a homemaker and a Missionary.

Mrs. Wilkens was raised in the Baptist Church and was spiritually supported by the Parks Presbyterian Church in rural Wichita County, Kansas.

On August 1, 1937 she married John Edward Wilkens in Wichita County, Kansas. Mr. Wilkens passed away on February 17, 2001 in Visalia, California 

Mrs. Wilkens surviving family includes-

Three Children and their spouses-

Charlotte Naomi & Jim Gift- Visalia, California

Douglas & Fran Wilkens- Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Steven & Nadine Wilkens- Morgan Hill, California

One sister-

Vandella Grusing- Leoti, Kansas

Eight grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, one great great grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews.

Her parents, husband, two brothers and four sisters preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am Saturday, October 24, 2015 at the First Baptist Church in Leoti, Kansas with the Reverends Nathan Gift and Gary Salmans officiating.

Inurnment will be at a later date in Visalia District Cemetery in Visalia, California.

Memorials may be given to the Moody Bible Institute, Bibles International or Baptist Mid Missions and mailed to
