Congressman Huelskamp Talks Taxes, Healthcare, Farming
Garden City, KS (www.westernkansasnews.com) Western Kansas Republican Congressman Tim Huelskamp made stops in Garden City and Dodge City today for town hall meetings on tax day. Huelskamp says he wants to reduce what we owe to Washington, but others remain firm to keep it this way for now.
Huelskamp wants his colleagues to join him and attempt to defund the IRS. Congressman Tim Huelskamp also talked about the recent resignation of Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius. Huelskamp wasn’t surprise when he heard the announcement.
Huelskamp calls the current healthcare system a mess.
Huelskamp is hopeful that next year’s Congress can pass some reforms that President Obama might be willing to agree on. Huelskamp also talked about the recently passed farm bill.
Those markets include an emphasis on the Pacific Rim. Congressman Huelskamp is also worried about how much uncertainty surrounds the law.
Huelskamp believes farmers could face some difficult decisions next year.
