Concordia boys, Liberal girls take home Hoisington Corner Classic titles

Hoisington, Kan. (westernkansasnews.com)–In their final tournaments before the break, several schools made their way to Hoisington on Friday for the annual Hoisington Corner Classic Tournament for both the boys and schools. Concordia’s boys would take the win, edging Great Bend for the team title, while on the girls side, Liberal held off Hoisington for the team title.

Starting with the boys, Concordia was 11 points better than Great Bend, while Hoisington was third. Holcomb was fifth, and got a tournament champion from Haegan Hartman at 132 pounds. Cimarron eighth.

On the girls side, it was Liberal winning by 4.5 points over Hoisington, while Scott City was third. Holcomb was seventh and Cimarron was 10th. Scott City got tournament championships from Brooklynn Gossman at 115 and Dayanara Jimenez at 145. Holcomb saw Abigail Redden win the 235-pound weight class.
