Colleen G. Penner, age 62, of Hooker, Oklahoma, died Wednesday, February 5, 2020, at Baptist St. Anthony Hospital in Amarillo, Texas.  She was born November 1, 1957, in Liberal, Kansas, the daughter of William E. and Alice B. (Sylvester) Hacker.  

Colleen was a retired Engineer Technician for Amoco Production Company.  After living in Oklahoma, Kansas, Colorado, Wyoming, New Mexico, and Texas, she settled once again in Hooker, Oklahoma.  

Colleen inherited artistic talent from her mother, and loved photography.  She would often chronicle family vacations through her photographs. She enjoyed traveling to different places, both in the US and abroad.  She particularly loved traveling to the Colorado Rockies for summer vacations, a practice that started as a child and continued throughout her adult life.  She enjoyed introducing her boys to many of the places she had visited as a child. Colleen also took great pleasure in watching her boys mature and grow into the adults they are today.

Colleen is survived by two sons, Eric Penner of Houston, Texas, and Kevin Penner and wife, Allie, of Sugar Land, Texas; mother, Alice Hacker of Hooker, Oklahoma; two brothers, Mike Hacker and wife, Vivian, of Lone Jack, Missouri, and Ron Hacker of Vinita, Oklahoma; one sister, Connie Carson and husband, Billy, of Enid, Oklahoma; one granddaughter, Amber Penner of Sugar Land, Texas; two nephews, two nieces and their children. 

Colleen is preceded in death by her father, William E. Hacker; and daughter, Amber Michelle Penner.

Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 12, 2020, at 2:00 PM at Garnand Funeral Home Chapel in Ulysses, Kansas, with Reverend Kelly Gindlesberger officiating.  Interment will follow at the Ulysses Cemetery in Ulysses, Kansas. Visitation will be Tuesday, February 11, 2020, from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Garnand Funeral Home Chapel.  Memorial contributions may be given to the donor’s choice in care of Garnand Funeral Home, 405 W.
