Clint Harris, 85, died Saturday, February 18, 2017 at the Hays Medical Center, Hays, Kansas. 

He was born July 20, 1931 at Maud, Oklahoma, the son of Edward Lee and Ora Lou (Walker) Harris. He worked many years in the oil fields of Oklahoma and in October of 1986 moved to Dodge City. He worked 28 years as a custodian at Roto-Mix in Dodge City until retiring in November 2015. 

He enjoyed bead work, leather work and woodworking as well as being an accomplished handy man. He was an avid collector and seller of antiques. He never met a stranger and enjoyed talking to people. He was a very giving and selfless person. 

He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. 

On January 12, 1987 he married Judy O’Connor at Dodge City. 

Survivors include: his wife, Judy, Dodge City; 5 children, Judy Davis and husband Mike, Oklahoma City, Debbie Harris, Oklahoma City, Janine McGalliard , Oklahoma City, Jamie Harris and wife Kelly, Oklahoma City and Mikalah Harris, Kansas City, Missouri; a step-son, Justin O’Connor and wife Casey, Hydro, Oklahoma; a brother, Merle Harris and wife Rhonda, Bethany, Oklahoma; 6 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant brother, a brother, Reed Harris and an infant granddaughter. 

Memorial services will be 10:00 am Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at Ziegler Funeral Chapel, Dodge City, with Rev. Dick Robbins officiating. His last selfless act was to bequeath his body to the University of Kansas School of Medicine. Inurnment will be at a later date at the Kansas Veterans Cemetery, Ft. Dodge. Friends may sign the register from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm Tuesday at Ziegler Funeral Chapel.
