Civil Rights Leader Challenges GCCC Students at Annual MLK Remembrance

Garden City, KS (westernkansasnews.com) Garden City Community College hosted their annual Martin Luther King, Junior Day speaker a day later because of the bad weather over the weekend. Bob Zellner parted ways from a culture of hate and a father who was in the KKK. He saw it all growing up in South Alabama.

Now as a leader who was mentored by Doctor King and Rosa Parks he posed this question to GCCC students.

Zellner is still very active today in civil rights.

Thursday marks the final full day for President Obama to serve his second term in office. His presidency has been met with great controversy from both sides of the politcial spectrum.  Zellner feels despite obstacles President Obama did his part to advance the cause of civil rights.

Zellner has challenged the Democrat Party to continue fighting for the oppressed. At times he feels the Democrats have lost their way and mirrored the Republicans on key issues.
