City Discusses The Importance of Shoring Up Their Financials

Garden City, KS (westernkansasnews.com) The old boy scout motto is be prepared and that is exactly what commissioners in Garden City discussed at their annual retreat last week. Not that they are counting on it, but city manager Matt Allen believes this issue is too important to let it slide.

Allen says the latest crisis happened in 2008 when the housing market crashed.

Preliminary discussions are taking place to be proactive should the taxbase take such a hit.
