Chris Douglas Macy, 60, died after a sudden illness on March 20, 2015 at Southwest Medical Center in Liberal, KS. 

He was born April 7, 1954 at New Castle, Wyoming, the oldest child of Robert and Ruby (Gray) Macy. He grew up in Rock Springs, WY and graduated from Rock Springs High School in 1972. Chris had lived in Liberal, KS since 1996. 

He had worked for Air Products and Chemicals for over 19 years beginning as a truck mechanic and then plant mechanic for the last 4 years. 

Chris was dedicated to his work. He loved spending time with his wife, Brenda, together doing gardening and yard work. Barbequing and fishing were his other enjoyments in life. He was an avid fan of NASCAR and Elvis Presley. He enjoyed being with family and was a proud father and grandfather, nicknamed by his grandkids as “Papa Rock Star”. 

On January 17, 2007, he married Brenda Lee Simpson at Liberal, KS. She survives.

Danny Paul Macy and Troy Lance Macy of Mitchell, SD; 

3 Step-Sons – Cody Simpson; Dustin Macy and wife Shyla; and Derek Macy all of Rock Springs, WY; 

8 Grandchildren – Tena Lynn, Brianna, Danny James, Austin, Christopher “CJ”, Quinn, Riley and Jaydyn 

2 Brothers – Keith Macy and Kent Macy both of Rock Springs, WY; 

3 Sisters – Tena Macy, Rhonda Friel and husband Brian and 

Shawnda Macy and companion Mike Moeller all of Rock Springs, WY; 

Step-Mother – Joyce Macy of Rock Springs, WY; 

2 Step-sisters – Linda Gustafson and husband Carl of El Cajon, CA; and 

Tammy Moyar of Rock Springs, WY; 

And numerous Nieces and Nephews. 

He was preceded in death by his father – Robert W. Macy. 

Memorial Service will be 2:00p.m. Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at Brenneman Funeral Home in Liberal.
