Charles R. Hibler, 91, died January 29, 2016 at his home in Dodge City. He was born on April 15, 1924 at Pratt, KS the son of Charles E. and Lou Ella (Horton) Hibler. 

He married Jane Irwin on November 17, 1978 in Tuscumbia, Missouri, she survives. Mr. Hibler worked for the water department in Liberal and Pratt until his retirement. At the age of 75 Charles returned to work for Broce construction as a flagman. He also enjoyed working Bingo and loved to go fishing. 

He was a member of the Howard Gotschall VFW Post #1714.  

Survivors include his wife Jane Hibler of the home; two sons Ron Hibler and wife Sue of Willis Point, Texas; Raymond Hibler and wife Pat of Liberal, Kansas; three step sons David Seemann of Edessa, Texas; Ricky Seemann of Dodge City and Shane Irwin and wife Allison of Olathe, Kansas, seven grandchildren, three step grandchildren and eight step great grandchildren. He is also survived by two brothers Bud Hibler and wife Joyce of Amarillo, Texas; Don Hibler and Wife Judy of Tuscumbia, Missouri; one sister Anna Adams of Eastland, Texas; sister-in-laws Margaret Hibler of Pierceville; Lele Hibler of Eldon, Missouri. 

He was preceded in death by a daughter Charlene, and five sisters Joyce Hunt, Marie Woodring, Vera Hibler, Lula White, Wanella Jennings and two brothers Darrell Hibler and Tobe Hibler. 

Memorial graveside service with military rites by Howard Gotschall VFW Post # 1714 will be held at Kansas Veterans’ Cemetery at Ft. Dodge on Thursday, February 4, 2016 at 2:00 PM with Rev. Dick Robbins presiding. There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place. Memorials are suggested to Charles Hibler Memorial Fund in care of the funeral home.
