Charges Filed Against Medical Marijuana, Cannabis Advocate Banda
Garden City, KS (westernkansasnews.com) The Finney County attorney’s office has filed drug charges against 37 year old cannabis advocate Shona Banda of Garden City whose custody battle for her son attracted national attention. Police searched Banda’s house on March 24th after her son expressed his support for the medical benefits of cannabis during an in school classroom discussion.
During the search officers say they found 1 1/4 pounds of suspected marijuana and a lab for manufacturing cannabis oil. Banda is facing charges for intent to distribute, manufacturing of a controlled substance and child endangerment. Banda says she has used cannabis previously for treatment of her Crohn’s Disease.
