Carroll A. Knoll, 79, died Saturday, June 17, 2017 at his home in Garden City. He was born July 14, 1937 in Hays, Kansas the son of Adam & Barbara (Sander) Knoll.
Carroll grew up and attended school in Victoria, Kansas. He graduated from Victoria High School in 1955. He later attended Fort Hays State University where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in English. He then served in the United States Air Force in the early 1960’s. On August 29, 1959, Carroll married Donna Belle Russell in Dodge City, Kansas. They lived in various places in Kansas before moving to Garden City in 1967. They have lived in Garden City since. Carroll first worked for many years as an adjuster for Farmer’s Insurance Group. He later operated his own Private Investigation service. 
Carroll was a member of St. Dominic Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus, and the Elk’s Lodge. He enjoyed playing handball, fishing, golfing, playing cards, and he loved to spend time and socialize with friends and family.
Survivors include a son: Richard Lee (Janet) Knoll of Woodland Park, CO; 2 daughters Jeris Ann (Brian) Newcomer of Wildwood, MO and Rhonda Marie (Tim) Miller of Garden City, KS; 3 brothers Omer Knoll of Palco, KS, Les Knoll of Gilbert, AZ, and Larry Knoll of Littleton, CO; a sister Janie Tenney of Las Vegas, NV; 10 Grandchildren; and 8 Great-Grandchildren. Carroll is preceded in death by his wife Donna who died on October 22, 1998. He is also preceded in death by his parents; 3 brothers Wayne Knoll, Devon Knoll, and Terry Knoll; and a sister Iris Knoll.
A vigil service and rosary will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 22, 2017 at St. Dominic Catholic Church in Garden City. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, June 23 also at St. Dominic Catholic Church with Fr. Reginald A. Urban presiding. Burial will follow at Valley View Cemetery in Garden City. There will be no calling hours. The family suggests memorials given to St. Catherine Hospice or to the Cancer Center At St. Catherine Hospital both in care of Garnand Funeral Home of Garden City.
